Chopper Twirls Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Well-Known Southern California Beach
A chopper flying over a popular southern California beach suddenly started spinning out of control, ultimately dropping height and smashing into a row of palm groves as onlookers observed.
Videos posted on social media show the aircraft starting to spin near Huntington Beach then falling near the perimeter of the coast, where it gets stuck between palms and a steps close to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Update
The Huntington Beach fire department said five people were transported to a medical facility comprising a pair who were in the aircraft and were ârescued from the debrisâ subsequent to the incident on that day.
Three individuals on the pavement were hurt. Information on their condition were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
Planned Function
Officials indicated the helicopter was linked to an annual âCars N Coptersâ benefit occasion planned for the next day.
